Mr Liberty 👨‍💼💜

I want to share my story of Mr Liberty with you. Liberty has had only a select number of suppliers in Australia. I was lucky to have one of the longest-standing suppliers, who has been my supplier since I started my Boutique Heidi. 

My supplier is a wonderful, distinguished English gentleman👨‍💼 . I spoke to him

regularly, and the sound of his voice reminded me of England and Liberty itself.... so I called him Mr. Liberty (no, he doesn't know this!)😂

I never actually got to meet Mr. Liberty... I don't know what he looked like, so I could imagine him to be whatever I wanted. I imagined a dapper gentle in a morning suit, something like from My Fair Lady 👒

With every Liberty collection, Mr. Liberty sent me Liberty Swatch books to select Fabrics for my Handkerchiefs. Every time I received a swatch book, I poured over it, not wanting to return it, so I was always late returning it.

Mr. Liberty had just retired, marking the end of a special time. I loved the formal, old-style way. Now I order online from the new Australian supplier, but it is not the same. 

I was lucky to obtain some of these Swatch books from Mr Liberty; I have listed some Swatch books and individual pieces from the books. I have kept some pieces (sorry) and am busy making a Liberty quilt. 🔲
